Privacy Policy
Last updated: 09.08.2026. This policy applies to the website fernstudium-klartext.com.
1. Controller
Controller within the meaning of the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP / revDSG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
Ritter Bildungs- und Digitalberatung
Lars Arnold Ritter
J. Schmidheinystrasse 24, 9436 Balgach, Switzerland
Email: beratung(at)ritterconsult.ch
2. Principles and scope of processing
I take the protection of your personal data seriously and comply with applicable data protection laws, in particular the revFADP and, where applicable, the GDPR. Fernstudium Klartext is a purely informational website. It deliberately operates with a minimum of data processing: there is no contact form, no registration and no web analytics. The only optional service is the newsletter, which you can subscribe to via the sign-up form (see section 6). Beyond that, personal data is processed only to the extent necessary for the technical operation of the website.
Data transmission is encrypted via SSL/TLS. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the lock symbol in your browser's address bar.
3. Server log files
This website is operated on Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Content is delivered via a global server network, which involves transferring data to the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework, and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition. When the website is accessed, information is automatically collected and stored in so-called server log files:
- Anonymised IP address
- Date and time of access
- File requested and volume of data transferred
- Successful retrieval confirmation
- Browser and operating system used (user agent)
- Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
These data are evaluated solely to ensure smooth operation and to defend against attacks, and are not merged with other data sources. Legal basis: Art. 31 para. 1 revFADP / Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest). The data are deleted after no more than 30 days.
4. Cookies
This website uses cookies only to a minimal extent. A single, technically necessary cookie is used: cc_cookie stores your consent to the cookie categories (cookie consent tool vanilla-cookieconsent v3) and is retained for six months. Legal basis: Art. 31 para. 1 revFADP / Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
No analytics or marketing cookies are set, and no third-party services for advertising are embedded. Reach is measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies (see below). If corresponding services are added in future, they will be used exclusively on the basis of your explicit consent via the cookie banner (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), and this policy will be updated beforehand.
Reach measurement with Cloudflare Web Analytics
To evaluate how this website is used, I use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a service provided by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), which also delivers this website. Only aggregated information is collected, such as pages viewed, referring website, approximate region of origin, device type and loading times. Cloudflare Web Analytics sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not build user profiles across websites. Conclusions about individual persons are therefore not possible. Legal basis: legitimate interest in privacy-friendly reach measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, Art. 31(1) revFADP). Further information: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
You can revoke your consent at any time via the link in the footer.
5. Contact by email
If you send me an email to beratung(at)ritterconsult.ch, for example for a data protection request, your data (email address, name, message text) will be stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry. Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry (Art. 31 para. 1 revFADP / Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). These data will be deleted after your enquiry has been processed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
6. Newsletter (SendFox)
You can subscribe to a newsletter on this website. For this purpose I process the details from the sign-up form (first name and email address) in order to send the newsletter. Your entries are not sent directly to SendFox but to a dedicated function on this website's server (Cloudflare Pages), where they are checked against automated spam sign-ups with Cloudflare Turnstile and only then passed on to SendFox. Your browser does not connect to SendFox when you submit the form.
The sign-up uses a double opt-in procedure: after submitting the form, you receive an email with a confirmation link, and the subscription only becomes effective once you click it. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR / Art. 31 para. 1 revFADP). You can withdraw your consent at any time, most easily via the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter email.
The dispatch service provider is SendFox, AppSumo Inc., 1108 Lavaca St STE 110-489, Austin, TX 78701, USA. SendFox is a US provider and processes data in the USA. There is a risk that US authorities may access these data. Privacy policy: sendfox.com/privacy.
Spam protection with Cloudflare Turnstile
The sign-up form is protected with Cloudflare Turnstile, a service of Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), which also delivers this website (see section 3). Turnstile serves solely to prevent automated spam sign-ups: it becomes active when the form loads, the actual verification takes place server-side when the form is submitted, and it does not set any cookies for advertising or reach measurement purposes. Legal basis: legitimate interest in preventing automated sign-ups (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR / Art. 31 para. 1 revFADP). Further information: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
7. External links and linked projects
This website links to external services, in particular to studienfluesterer.com (including the online appointment booking for an initial consultation) and to akademie.studienfluesterer.com. When you click such a link, you leave this website and reach an external site with its own privacy policy. The respective operator is responsible for the data processing there; this policy does not apply to it.
8. Your rights
You have the following rights at any time:
- Information about the data stored about you (Art. 25 revFADP, Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 32 revFADP, Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure of your data, where no retention obligations apply (Art. 32 revFADP, Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 28 revFADP, Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent with effect for the future
An informal email to beratung(at)ritterconsult.ch is sufficient to exercise these rights.
9. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (EDÖB / FDPIC): edoeb.admin.ch. Persons resident in the EU may also contact the competent national data protection authority.
10. Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be adapted in response to technical or legal changes. The version published on this page applies. The date of last update is shown above.
